On June 26, 2025, the 2025 National Food Quality and Safety Conference for the Condiment Industry was held in Chengdu. This conference was hosted by the China Condiment Association, with Lianhua Holdings Co., Ltd. as a co-host.

Gong Guoqiang, Deputy Director-General of the Food Safety Standards and Monitoring and Evaluation Department of the National Health Commission; Wang Fengzhong, Director and Researcher of the Institute of Food and Nutrition Development of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Bai Yan, President of the China Condiment Association; Li Bin, Vice Chairman and CEO of Lianhua Holdings Co., Ltd.; and over 300 professionals from government departments, local associations, research institutes, universities, and news media attended the conference.

Bai Yan, President of the China Condiment Association, attended the conference and delivered a speech. She mentioned that in 2025, various national departments issued a series of regulations, policies, and standard documents on food safety and quality, covering the entire chain of food safety supervision, comprehensive governance of the abuse of food additives, the formulation and revision of national food safety standards, food labeling management, consumption environment optimization, standardized management of online trading platforms, supervision and management of live e-commerce, and other aspects. Among them, the "National Food Safety Standard General Rules for Prepackaged Food Labels (GB7718-2025)" stipulates that terms such as "no added," "no use of," "no contains," and their synonyms cannot be used to promote or introduce products.

The above-mentioned series of measures highlight the country's high attention to food quality and safety. In terms of the condiment industry, while ensuring quality and safety, industrial development has also been relatively stable. According to the data statistics of the top 100 Chinese condiment enterprises in 2024 (100 companies), the total production of the top 100 enterprises was 16.457 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.0%; sales revenue was 136.03 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%; and net profit increased by 8% year-on-year. The results of various food supervision inspections in the third quarter of 2024 by the State Administration for Market Regulation showed that the unqualified rate of food supervision inspections was 2.95%, of which the unqualified rate of condiments was 1.52%, lower than the overall unqualified rate of food inspections.

China has numerous condiment categories, with a wide variety of products and rapid iteration. The national standard "Condiment Classification" (GB/T20903-2007) covers 17 major categories of products, including Chinese and Western styles, national and regional, single and compound, and traditional brewing and modern processes. The rich variety of products, coupled with the rapid changes in consumption channels and the innovative development of the catering and food processing industries, has put forward new requirements and directions for food safety supervision and quality management in the condiment industry.

The association will continue to actively cooperate with relevant national departments in carrying out food quality and safety management work in the condiment industry, actively guide industry production enterprises to implement their main responsibilities, strictly control various links such as production, circulation, and consumption, and build a solid foundation for food safety.

Li Bin, Vice Chairman and CEO of Lianhua Holdings Co., Ltd., said in his speech: Food quality and safety is a people's livelihood project and a people's heart project. The condiment industry holds a unique position in the entire food industry; its quality and safety are related to the health and quality of life of thousands of households, and are the main foundation and lifeline of the industry's existence and development. For 42 years, Lianhua Holdings has always adhered to the mission of "serving the healthy and delicious life of mankind" and insisted on the production and operation philosophy of "safety first, quality first," regarding food safety and product quality as the foundation of the enterprise's existence.
