It is understood that this marks the first time the food industry has released a list of “500 Key Enterprises in the Food Industry.” The purpose of this initiative is to guide Chinese food enterprises as they embark on a new stage of development, fully implement the new development philosophy, seize opportunities presented by changes in the industrial environment and emerging industry trends, and promote high-quality development of the food industry. Starting from 2025, the association will conduct annual analytical studies on these 500 key enterprises. Through in-depth analysis and research of these 500 key enterprises, we will summarize their experiences in growing and thriving, as well as their roles in regional economies and industry development. This will help steer Chinese food enterprises toward continuous strengthening, optimization, and expansion, and accelerate their journey toward becoming world-class companies. At the same time, this study will provide relevant data and research insights on the development of China’s key food enterprises to various domestic and international stakeholders. With strong support from local food associations and relevant enterprises, and using 2024 enterprise revenue as the entry criterion, the “500 Key Enterprises in China’s Food Industry for 2025” were identified through voluntary self-reporting by enterprises.

As a domestic Chinese brand established in 1983 and the first publicly listed company in China’s seasoning industry, Lianhua has been serving the healthy and delicious lifestyles of millions of households for over 40 years. In recent years, the company has seized new opportunities presented by the rise of domestic brands and closely followed evolving market demands in its core businesses of seasonings and food products. Focusing on the two key consumption scenarios—catering and home kitchens—the company has continued to excel with its traditional flagship products such as Lianhua MSG while leveraging its comprehensive R&D strengths to put into practice the product development philosophy of “green, natural, and low-sodium.” As a result, Lianhua has introduced a series of innovative, health-conscious products—including Lianhua Matsutake Fresh, Premium Soy Sauce, and Low-Salt Light Soy Sauce—that have won widespread consumer love and recognition.

In the future, the company will focus intensively on comprehensively enhancing its “seven core capabilities,” continuously developing more high-quality new products that are safe, healthy, and delicious. We will provide consumers with even better products and services, thereby better serving the healthy and flavorful lives of countless households. We aim to become a domestically produced brand that is affordable, easy to use, and trusted by the public, and we will strive to make new contributions to the high-quality development of China’s food industry.

It is understood that the 500 key enterprises in China’s food industry by 2025 will exhibit the following six major characteristics: First, these 500 key enterprises hold a pivotal and dominant position within China’s food industry; second, the overall scale of these 500 key enterprises is expanding steadily by 2025; third, their economic benefits are steadily improving; fourth, enterprises in the following five sectors rank among the top five in terms of number: alcoholic beverage manufacturing, slaughtering and meat processing, other food manufacturing, fermented condiment and seasoning production, and other agricultural and sideline food processing; fifth, enterprises in the eastern region account for half of the total revenue and other business indicators of these 500 key enterprises; and sixth, private enterprises make up the majority.
